The site was razed between 1902 and 1917 and all the buildings except one
were demolished.
From 1917 to the 1950s the site was used for industrial purposes with
a collection of sheds clearly visible in the
1949 aerial survey
of Sydney.
The site was razed again in the 1950's and then used as a
Bus Parking Station until 1972.
The site was used as a storage area for the Sydney Cove Authority
from 1972 until the excavation in 1994.
