Governor Philip signs his first dispatch to Lord Sydney describing the voyage, the selection of Sydney Harbour as the location of the colony and he requests that more women be sent to the colony.
The foundation stone for the Governor's house is laid. It is being built by a gang of convicts working under the direction of a stone mason.
